O! The Promising ‘Happy’ New Year!
We welcome your arrival year after year while dancing in the clubs, drinking in the pubs, sprawling in front of fireplaces on the thick rugs, or on the cozy sofas watching your various incarnations through tv, or sitting around burning logs in the chow pals, or squeezing into one another somewhere on the corner of pavements around burning chips and wastes or encircling old smoaking tires awaiting your virtual arrival around us which would be perceivable. We welcome in every part of the globe ever since the civilization has some written records of such celebrations (of late rituals).
O! Happy New Year! Part of you is new and part of you is happy. As the new you come always and each year but as the happy you come not. Your invigorating and ever enjoyable warmth (specially so during the saddening and depressing chill) is, alas, not distributed as equally and around as you would have wished yourself to have. This warmth gets entrapped or shadowed by the high and affluent sky scrapers, gets enslaved in the ever conspiring fortresses of vested interests and their coffers. Often gets hindered by ever baffling and befooling slogans or political scheming. But we are still waiting for you from our part of the globe and that is India
O! The Promising ‘Happy’ one this time too, in the 2012 edition of yours you chose to hide behind something which is called a ‘Janlokpal’. Earlier on you had chosen to hide behind ‘ROTI KAPRA AUR MAKAN’ ‘HOUSE FOR EVERONE’’GAREEBI HATAO’and ‘INDIA SHINING’’HALF THE HOURS OF WORK AND DOUBLE THE QUANTITY OF BREADS’ ETC . For the last 66yrs you have been successfully eluding us and keeping us hopeful for your arrival till the next.
